Edinburgh Sports Awards 2011

The Edinburgh Sports Awards look to recognise and reward the contribution to sport being made by local clubs, individuals and volunteers in the city.
An exciting new development for this year is that all shortlisted coaches will automatically be entered into the national Sportscotland coaching awards.
All shortlisted nominees will be invited to the Edinburgh Sports Awards evening on 28th October 2011.

The nominations need to be returned by Monday 10th October 2011 and completed using the nomination form.
Nominations are open for 5 categories:
CLUB OF THE YEAR AWARD
This award is for an Edinburgh
based club that has achieved some, or all, of the following in the last 12
months: gained or attained National Governing Body (NGB) accreditation;
demonstrated successful partnerships with local schools and community
organisations; evidenced commitment to volunteer recruitment, recognition and
training including increased membership and participation levels. A club which
strives to get more people, more active, more
often.
YOUNG PERSON'S COACH OF THE YEAR
This award will be made to a coach
who has made an outstanding contribution to the introduction and early
development of sport for young people under the age of
18.
PERFORMANCE COACH OF THE YEAR
This award will be made to a coach working with athletes and teams at the highest level in their sport. The award looks for evidence of player centred development leading to successful performance at the highest level of Scottish, UK or international sport.
DISABILITY COACH OF THE YEAR
This award will be made to a coach working with athletes and teams at the highest level in their sport. The award looks for evidence of player centred development leading to successful performance at the highest level of Scottish, UK or international sport.
EDINBURGH VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
This award is for an official, administrator or general helper, who has in the last 12 months: demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to a sport or club; made a strong impact on a club or organisation through volunteering; shown a commitment to personal development, team working and supporting the development of other volunteers.
